How Collapse works
Everything you need to launch a coin on Collapse, observe one, and explain it to others. Collapse is a launchpad on Solana where one coin can be launched as two or three versions at once, and the market decides which one becomes real.
Overview
Launching a coin today is a single guess: one name, one ticker, one image, and hope it lands. If the idea doesn't catch on, it's over.
On Collapse you launch several versions of your coin at the same time, each with a different name, ticker and image. They all exist in superposition. Traders observe them by buying the versions they believe in. When the timer runs out, the most observed version becomes the real coin, and the other versions collapse into it, so their liquidity isn't lost.
Every coin exists in every state until the market observes it.
Core concepts
The idea comes from quantum mechanics. A particle exists in every possible state at once until it is observed; then its wavefunction collapses and only one state becomes real. Schrödinger described it with a cat in a sealed box, alive and dead until someone opens it. On Collapse, every coin is the cat, and the market opens the box.
Vocabulary
These words mean one thing each, everywhere on Collapse.
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| State | One version of a coin, with its own name, ticker and image. |
| Superposition | The 30-minute window in which all states of a launch are live at the same time. |
| Observer | A trader. |
| Observation | A buy. Every buy of a state is an observation of it. |
| Collapse | The moment the timer ends: one state becomes real and the others merge into it. |
| Observation Chamber | The live page where states compete. |
| The Box | The sealed box, the symbol of the brand. |
Lifecycle of a launch
Every launch goes through the same four steps, in order. Nothing about the steps changes between launches.
1 · Preparing the states
The creator sets up two or three versions of one coin on the Launch page. Each state has its own name, ticker, image and a short description. The X link, Telegram link and website are shared by every state, because they describe the launch, not one version of it.
Make the states genuinely different ideas. Three near-identical states split attention without telling you anything.
2 · Superposition
When the creator enters superposition, all states go live on Solana together. From that moment a single 30-minute timer runs for the whole launch, and the states are fixed: no state is added, removed or renamed while it is live.
3 · Observation
Observers buy the states they believe in. Every buy is an observation. The Chamber shows each state's observers and its share of all observations in the launch, updating as buys come in.
Whether a state is ranked by distinct buyer wallets or by number of buys: TBD: counting rule
4 · Collapse
When the timer reaches zero, the state with the most observers becomes the real coin. The other states collapse, and their liquidity merges into the winner, so nothing that was put into the launch is wasted. The collapse is a live moment: everyone watching the Chamber sees it happen at the same time.
| At collapse | What happens |
|---|---|
| Winning state | Becomes the real coin and keeps trading. |
| Other states | Collapse. Their liquidity merges into the winning state. |
| Holders of collapsed states | TBD: how holdings in collapsed states are treated |
| A tie | TBD: tie-break rule |
| No observations | TBD: outcome when nobody observes |
Rules and limits
The Launch form checks these before a launch can enter superposition.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| States per launch | 2 to 3 |
| Superposition window | 30 minutes, the same for every state in the launch |
| Name | 1 to 32 characters, different from the other states |
| Ticker | 2 to 10 letters or digits (A–Z, 0–9), different from the other states |
| Image | PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, up to 4 MB |
| Description | Up to 140 characters |
| Shared links | X, Telegram, website (optional). Full links starting with https:// |
| Winning rule | Most observers when the timer ends |
| Network | Solana |
| Launch fee | TBD |
| Trading fee | TBD |
For creators
Collapse lets you test several ideas at once instead of betting everything on one. The real coin is chosen by observers, not by you, so your job is to bring ideas worth choosing between and to bring people to watch.
Launch checklist
- Pick two or three distinct ideas for the same coin.
- Give each state a clear name, a ticker of 2 to 10 characters, and an image that reads well small.
- Write one line per state saying what makes it different.
- Add your X and Telegram links so observers can follow the launch.
- Announce the start time before you enter superposition, so people are there for the whole 30 minutes.
- Enter superposition, then share the Chamber link.
- Be there for the collapse. It's the moment people come to watch.
Announcing your launch
A post that works on X and Telegram. Fill in the brackets and keep the vocabulary.
We're launching [COIN] on Collapse. [2 or 3] states. One becomes real. $[TICKER 1] · [Name 1] $[TICKER 2] · [Name 2] $[TICKER 3] · [Name 3] Superposition opens [DATE] at [TIME UTC] and lasts 30 minutes. Observe the state you believe in. When the timer ends, the most observed state becomes the real coin and the others collapse into it. Watch it live in the Observation Chamber: [LINK]
[COIN] has collapsed. $[WINNING TICKER] is real. [N] observers chose it. The other states collapsed into it, and their liquidity merged into $[WINNING TICKER]. Thank you for observing.
For observers
You decide which version becomes real. During superposition, open a launch in the Chamber, compare its states, and buy the one you believe in. Each buy is an observation and moves that state's share. Watch the timer: when it ends, the state with the most observers becomes the real coin.
Only the winning state becomes the real coin. Read how collapsed states are handled for holders before you buy: TBD: holder treatment
The Observation Chamber
The Chamber lists every launch in superposition, soonest collapse first, and every recently collapsed launch. Each launch shows its states side by side with their image, name, ticker, number of observers and share of observations, plus a countdown such as Collapses in 14:32. A collapsed launch shows the winner highlighted and the other states greyed out with a Collapsed label.
Wallets and network
Collapse runs on Solana. You need a Solana wallet to launch or observe. Connect it with Connect Wallet in the top bar.
Wallet connection and on-chain launches aren't live yet. The Chamber fills up as soon as the first launch goes live.
Risks
- Coins launched on Collapse are highly speculative. Their value can go to zero.
- Only one state of each launch becomes the real coin.
- Prices can move quickly during superposition and around the collapse.
- Anyone can launch. A launch on Collapse is not an endorsement by Collapse.
- Nothing here promises a return. Check the rules where you live before you trade.
FAQ
How many states can one launch have?
Two or three.
How long does superposition last?
30 minutes, for every launch. All states share one timer.
Who decides which state becomes real?
Observers. The state with the most observers when the timer ends becomes the real coin. The creator doesn't choose.
What happens to the liquidity of the losing states?
It merges into the winning state, so it isn't lost.
Can I edit a state once it's live?
No. States are fixed for the whole superposition window, so every observer sees the same choice.
Where do I watch a collapse?
In the Observation Chamber. Every launch's countdown is visible there, and the collapse happens live for everyone at the same moment.
